The
Design
Looking to upgrade the quality of their visitor areas while inspiring the imagination, CMN asked R&P to create nature-infused spaces for the café and boutique. Finishes including reclaimed white oak, salvaged metal railings, custom laser-cut features and artificial boxwood hedge accents help define the character of the interiors. Photography of CMN’s own trees just outside the building became high-resolution wallcoverings to complete the space. The reuse of the building’s metal gates as dividers provide a connection to the strucuture’s heritage.
The completed spaces have become a destination and the café is a popular rental for various events. The neutral finishes with a punch of bright green allow the updated location to feel clean and modern; drawing visitors in with beautiful details and sophisticated design as an extension of the Museum’s character.
R&P created a beautiful and sophisticated design while respecting the many criteria that we gave them.Laura Rhodes
