Goal

Fallsview Casino was in possession of a dramatic 7,100 sq. ft. space with breathtaking views of Niagara Falls. R&P was commissioned to design an exclusive VIP lounge for high-roller clientele providing a luxurious setting with beautiful views of Niagara Falls. The client team wanted an exciting and fresh design concept that would maximize the premium views of the falls, provide the quality of environment needed to keep guests on-site, and provide the comfort and exclusivity that their high-end clients had come to expect.

The
Design

The R5 Lounge has a contemporary feel that is luxurious and chic, yet comfortable. It provides a glamorous haven that is a rejuvenating break from the excitement of the gaming floor. The expansive space is divided into free-flowing and distinct levels designed as individual areas for special gatherings as well as connected spaces for larger social events. The multi-level seating takes advantage of spectacular views of Niagara Falls, while also creating areas to see and be seen. Glass sculptures cascade from the ceiling while sumptuous seating, glowing fireplaces and illuminated panels of brilliant colors offer a welcoming, warm and sensuous setting for VIP visitors.

The bar is elevated, allowing patrons seated at the bar to take in the spectacular views of Niagara Falls. A raised platform for a grand piano adds character and live music to the lounge. The host station at the entrance reflects the contemporary feel of the interior room. Cascading warm lighting welcomes clients and entices them with the promise that something intriguing and special awaits ahead.

The
Result

The R5 Lounge delivers a powerful impact for visitors. Its target VIP clientele have deemed the lounge experience “A Must” attraction and a rejuvenating pause from the excitement of the gaming experience. The views of Niagara Falls from the interior, and the dramatic thunder of the falls from the exterior are powerful aspects of the setting that have been expertly incorporated. The R5 lounge has become both the starting and concluding venue for many visits, which has been a strategic asset for the casino.
